FAQs

How will Hacktitude be conducted on the day?

  • It will be held online. The team can join remotely over the Internet.

  • On the day of the challenge, your team will be invited to a Git repository as contributors.

  • This Git repo will contain a half-built solution with around 2,000 lines of code.

  • The README file of the git repository will contain a set of tasks to complete as a team.

  • Work as a team and submit code to the given Git repository as you complete the tasks. We encourage teams to commit and push frequently.

  • The task completion is automatically tested and verified through a set of test cases on our servers.

  • Participants can run the test cases themselves on their local machines before submitting them.

  • Participants can check completion status of submitted tasks through an online dashboard.

Can team members be from different universities?

No, this is not allowed - all members and academic coach need to be from the same university/institute.

Who are the organizers?

Hacktitude is organised by 99x. The automation technology is powered by DevGrade.

How can we practice and prepare?

On 29th of July 2023, we will share a test-run Git repository URL for all registered teams. This test-run repository will contain a similar technology stack and solution structure. It will contain a couple of problems your team to solve and practice. If you solve and submit the code before 31st of July, we will send you a report of your test-run work by 1st of August 2023. It is important for you to participate in this session as there will be no technical help provided by our team on the day of the competition.

What resources can I use?

You're welcome to use any online/offline resources during the competition. Other than during the practice round, discussing problems with other contestants, or anyone else, during the contest is not allowed. You aren't permitted to share privately or write publicly about the tasks until after the contest is over.

Do I have to solve the tasks in any order?

Theoretically, you can solve the problems in any order you like. But in practice, you might find it easier to solve the challenges in the given order. There are different score values for each test set, and we give lower score values to what we think are easier tasks.

How can I ask for help or report an issue during the competition?

We cannot provide hints or clarify  problem statements, and will not offer any technical support on the day of the competition.

However, our team may assist you during the practice run if you require any technical help. If you participate in the test run, most of the infrastructure-related issues can be sorted out before the competition.

If we answer a question, we may share your question (anonymously) and our answer with all contestants via the common chat group you will be added to.

Can I get disqualified after registration?

You may be disqualified from the competition if 99x reasonably believes that you have attempted to undermine the legitimate operations by violating the rules of the competition.

Can former 99x interns participate in Hacktitude?

If you have/had a formal contract with 99x between 1st June 2023 and 5th August 2023, you are not eligible to participate.

26 years or above

Can I apply if my age is 26 years or above?

If you or your teammate are above 26 years but a university student studying the the academic system, you may register yourself for Hacktitude. However, your academic coach will be required to validate this information by sending us a letter in this format to hacktitude@99x.io
